Meetings, Seminars and Workshops

These programs are available through six regional chapters nationwide. Meet face-to-face with leading art directors, art buyers, colleagues, noted professionals and consultants. While these events are open to the public at premium attendance fees, APA members are always able to attend at special membership rates. This can mean saving 1/3 of membership dues at a single workshop.

Mentoring

Mentoring is available to emerging photographers. This program will receive a significant boost through the upcoming introduction of the APA Success Teams program which has just been introduced in the APA Atlanta Chapter.

APAdigital

The newest of APA's two online newsgroups, APAdigital is dedicated to the discussion of digital issues related to advertising. This important newsgroup helps guide members through digital transitions being faced today. APA Estimating Software

This free software is available to members in both Macintosh and Windows versions. The source code is open, allowing customization by members. It contains estimating worksheets, the estimate form, term and conditions, and other forms.

Rights Protection

APA is a member of the Coalition of Visual Artists (CVA) which works with other photographer and artist organizations to introduce new legislation and Copyright regulations in the photographers' best interest. This very important initiative is needed to offset the interests of the publishing industry which is strongly represented in Washington.

APA representatives and copyright liasons also research and review court cases and possible infringements affecting advertising and commercial photographers, and keeps members updated on the latest developments.
