Jay Fletcher has been providing his customers with creative photography for 25 years. He is know as a leading black and white portraiture artist in the southeast region, and his portraits are considered by many to be heirloom works of photographic art.

APA VOLUNTEERS SCORE RESULTS

For several years, many dedicated APA photographers nationwide have been volunteering their time and resources to bring about important changes within APA to address the pressing needs of photographers. These efforts have now produced some very positive, concrete results.

Of particular note is the new APA Business Manual - A Guide to Successful Advertising Photography which has been released online.

APAnet, the online discussion group for business issues in advertising photography, has been credited as a great inspiration and resource for the new Business Manual, and a perfect companion covering the same topics in daily discussons. Every phototgrapher, assistant, and student is encouraged to subscribe to APAnet.

Three years ago, APA took a significant change in direction when it became a member-driven organization with a simple yet powerful mission: successful advertising photographers. As a result, this has become the most exciting period of APA's history, and the Atlanta chapter is at the center of what is happening nationwide. Not only has membership grown nationwide, APA/A has grown from less than 50 members to300, including starting associate chapter APA|Charlotte.

The reason we are growing is clear: 1) we are all working together, and 2) we are focused on our mission. Two significant programs have been introduced to help members achieve their goals:

• APAnet, the only online discussion group dedicated to advertising photographers, is supported by industry consultants and others who give the discussions balance, and is highly praised by participants.
  
  
• APA SUCCESS TEAMS, a pilot program introduced by APA/A, is dedicated to supporting the success of the individual photographer. More than half of our members have elected to participate in this exciting new program.
